a very quick tutorial of aperture photometry with IRAF

exec ds9(ximtool) and iraf

(vo)cl> digiphot
digiphot > apphot
apphot > display xxxx.fits
apphot > epar qphot
interac = yes
radplot = yes

then press 'f' key at the target object displayed in ds9.

(radial profiles should be appeared.)

tune the core parameters by starting ':' (cbox, annulus, dannulus, aperture)

..when you've done, re-hit 'f' to check your tunes

hit 'space' to text output (default is $imagefile+'mag'+$num)

you may feel that text outputs are too much verbose...

now try
apphot > epar txdump


the next should be batch works (can be made without any instructions)
